Comments from Students

Here are some kind words from Mosaic Acting Students  . . .

I recently made the switch to working in the Sac/SF area to the LA scene. I had taken classes from local teachers and had gotten tons of feeback about what to expect and strategies to use when I got to LA. However, with one exception, the advice that I got from people up here were just plain WRONG! Perhaps they have worked in this business in the past, but in the acting business (just like any technology) changes happen fast.
The one exception was Charlie Holliday. It pays to get advice from an actor with so much recent experience in Hollywood. All of his advice turned out to be right on the money.  LA is a big and expensive move to make. Save yourself time, money and frustration by taking Charlie's classes. He's a pro and a wealth of information. He'll give you good, solid, up-to-date information that you can use.

Charlie's studio isn't glamorous; it's a working studio.

Bit by bit, you will learn the ins and outs of the business aspect, the emotional aspect, the theatrical aspect, the visual and auditory aspect, and the nuances of the acting business.

You will learn in an informal, open, honest and unassuming way how you can be an integral part of an alluring artistic and potentially lucrative business.

It's been a very long time since I dabbled in the acting business.  Yes, it's been awhile, but, after taking Charlie's classes, I'm ready, willing and able to take the plunge once again.

Thank you,

Sheila

Charlie, your rating at the Sacramento Film Festival was stellar--**** (four stars).  Your teaching stamp was all over the screen.  I thank you for the training and practical knowledge---a teacher does not always realize his/her effect on students; continue the good work!  Awaiting the "Big Break"

I went to an audition about a week ago for the new short titled "Life."  I've never received such a great compliment from a director. There was a lot of crying involved with the character, which I have always been scared of, but with Mosaic Acting the crying just came! it was AMAZING! After I was done He just said "Wow!"  He also said I was very believable and professional, and undeniably talented! I can't thank you and Mosaic Acting enough! It just shows how far I've come, and I owe all of it to you!!! You're Amazing!!! Thanks Charlie!
Love ya lots

I've had the privilege of taking a number of classes from Charlie, including Acting for Camera Technique and Mosaic Acting. The thing I like most about them is that you "hit the road running!" The theory is there, but the practical application of the theory is also there, getting you immediately involved in the process of acting in his classes! Charlie is a an actor's actor. Every actor who takes their craft seriously, needs to find the time to take classes from him

Dear Charlie,
Thank you so much for all that you have taught me. We in Northern California are really blessed by your willingness to share and teach. "A Place Called Sacramento 2005" was really a testimony to how you have touched and influenced so many acting students lives.
Thank you Charlie!!! I look forward to seeing you on the screen and taking more of your classes

I shot my scenes from my first short film today. It was a terrific experience and I loved every minute! Thank you so much for all you do! I hope you realize how many people you help every single day ... I knew what to expect and it was just as you taught it. It allowed me to focus on acting and not on what I didn't know... You're the best! Hugs and kisses,

Yvonne Koenig

The Uta Hagen Class "A Challenge for the Actor" helped me to create the privacy on stage one needs to be one’s self. To be interested in one’s place on stage. The result is the audience will be interested and drawn to what is happening on stage.  The classes are also a lot of fun!
I can't wait to take the next class, Charlie . . . .

I have been taking the "Winning the Commercial Audition" class with Charlie and it has been an amazing experience!  Prior to this class I had gone to various commercial auditions and felt quite nervous about what was going to happen in the audition room. I now have confidence and feel prepared when I go into my auditions, whether it is for commercial or film.  The tools I have learned from Charlie and the Mosaic Acting System (Jeremy Whelan) have been priceless

I took Charlie Holliday's course during the summer of 2004. It occurred during a period of time wherein I was just beginning to explore film acting. Now, I have successfully used the skills, experiences and perspectives, time and time again, to win Bay Area auditions and perform solid roles.
The course has been a fundamental element in my relationship with acting with the camera. Undoubtedly, it's a cornerstone among my training. Not only will you learn, or be exposed to, critical foundation-level techniques for film acting, but you will also be entertained by a fun and caring instructor.
Sincerely,

Franklin Liu
